Marlock Electric Case Studies: Upgraded Service & Relocation of Meter, Rochester

These customers were referred to us by an existing customer that we did the same project for, who was very satisfied with our work. They called us originally to upgrade their electrical service from a 100 amp to a 200 amp service, to accommodate additional electrical loads in their home. Upgrading to a 200 amp service is a common request due to technological advances in today's society, and the overall growth of electricity use in general. Most older homes had a 100 amp service originally installed, which is why these customers needed to upgrade in the first place. These customers made the smart decision by calling us to upgrade their service, as their previous wiring could have been overloaded, causing serious problems such as a fire. When our technicians arrived, they noticed another problem with the electric meter, which violated clearance criteria per the National Electric Code.


Our professional technicians were able to successfully upgrade it to a 200 amp service, so that the customers would not have to worry about their electricity usage. These customers are now in less danger of fires and overloaded circuits, and can have peace of mind about how much electricty they are using, as their 200 amp service is completely sufficient. Our technicians were also able to solve the clearance issues of the meter, by moving it from the basement, to the outside of the house. This also makes it much easier for the electric company to read, when the time is necessary.
