Ironically several exterior lights were not working at a commercial building in Geneva, NY in a very short period of time. Our technicians were called out to service these lights as an emergent situation. The lights provided a clear path and safety in the parking lot area to the patrons who came to this busy medical office, employment facility and assemblyman's office space.
After troubleshooting each faulty light it was determined that each had a different issue and was not a major electric repair.
Found were a photo eye that was faulty, a light that had blown as well as a defective ballast that needed to be replaced. We replaced the photo eye sensor, installed a new and more energy efficient bulb as well as a new ballast.
The repairs were complete and the customers as well as the building residents and owner were very pleased with the professionalism and troubleshooting skills of our technician.
Recently completed, is this commercial project in Geneva, NY for a local college. The college had a smaller back up generator system in case of power outages, but were looking to expand the amount of electricity they could provide to both their students as well as staff.
Marlock Electric was able to expand into further areas of the school with the generator system by installing new panels and transformers to allow more of the campus to be up and illuminated in the event of a power outage. The picture illustrated is the new panels installed as well as the transfer switch that allowed the campus to have the upgraded emergency electric power they needed.
Our outstanding technicians did an amazing job giving this college the newest upgrade of additional emergency electric power.
It is often that our repeat business from our customers brings us back to the Canandaigua area. In this instance a long-time contractor called in for us to tie in a 220v electric line to a customers panel box, due to the complexities of this type of wiring. They were unsure and looked to us as professionals to install the line to the existing panel box as well as installing a (4) prong dryer outlet and testing out.
We are thankful that the contractor knew when it was time to call a professional that they called on Marlock Electric, Inc. Please consider us when looking at any electric job, large or small. We are the professionals you will want to be sure it's done right the first time. Thank you to the contractor that believes in our professionalism and expertise.
Our office received a message that a Farmington, NY homeowner was concerned about their electric service as well as the safety of their home. Our salesman was able to come in and assess the needs of the house. It was determined that the age of the home would require a new 100 amp service and breakers, new entrance cable from the meter to the panel as well as all necessary grounding for safety and bring up to code. We upgraded the existing receptacles in the basement to GFCI's also to bring up to code. New switches, outlets and carbon monoxide as well as smoke detectors were installed per code. The exterior had a new entry coach light and we made corrections to the garage lighting both interior as well as exterior as they were mis-wired inside the panel box. Many of these projects are needed in most homes that are dated.
It is important that if your home is dated that you have a licensed electrical contractor do a walk through with you to determine the safety of your wiring system. One of the most important items that we did was install was hard-wired carbon monoxide detectors and smoke detectors with battery back up. This is so important in case of an accidental fire.
If its been some time since you've had an electrical inspection and your home is older, we suggest you consider making an appointment today. We would be happy to give you a thorough inspection that will bring your electric up to code, add energy savings and give you peace of mind.
We were called by the owner of the building in a Clifton Springs strip mall to let us know that the electric company would be coming to shut off their power for a damaged meter enclosure. Their concern was that they run a restaurant and it is imperative that they have power daily to run their establishment. The power company also called to let us know they would need to turn off the power as the pole and meter were damaged from another incident earlier in the week. Our commercial technician was quickly dispatched to perform the necessary repairs and we were able to keep them up and running after only a short time. We take pride in the fact that our professional and speedy technicians work efficiently and keep our clients up and running when they need us most.

A Farmington, NY homeowner called after hours and explained that he was without power in parts of his home. He said he was having company over the next day and could not wait for a weekday service call. We were more than accommodating to them and sent an after hours technician right to his home to troubleshoot the power outage. The technician on site was able to narrow down the issue and found that a faulty switch was causing the disruption in their electric. The technician made the necessary repairs and was able to get the homeowner back up and once again safe in their home.

A Shortsville, NY customer contacted the office and explained that while at work a vehicle accident occurred in his neighborhood and he and his neighbor were without power. The meter and cable had actually been ripped from his house and the electric company came and turned off their power. The call came in around 5:30pm and our certified technicians immediately went on site to identify the issues. We were able to not only repair the damaged cable and meter pulled from the house, but also restore power for them the same evening. We are able to provide an after hours emergency call and got this customer back up and restored power. They were so very appreciative of our services, as were we to provide them.
We were asked to perform a walkthrough with a homeowner for a new home being built in Phelps, NY by a local builder. The homeowner was concerned that they would not have adequate lightning that they preferred with the basic floor plan layout and during the walkthrough it was suggested that additional GFCI outlets would need to be installed, shower can lighting added in bathrooms and recessed can lights in the kitchen added the additional lighting they preferred as well as pendant lighting to add ambiance to the kitchen as well. The addition electric work performed throughout the house was an upgrade that gave them the lighting they were looking for at a price that was hands down affordable.

A homeowner in Naples, NY was needing additional circuits run to his sub panel to accommodate additional electric items he would be using. We realize that most older homes are not as equipped to accommodate the needs of today's automated world. Most of the time the panels are outdated and even sometimes can be a fire hazard with some of the old type fuse boxes.
With this Naples, NY homeowner we found that they had a secondary box called a sub panel that had not been installed correctly and was not up to code. This sub panel was installed due to the fact that the panel box was full and could not hold any more circuits. Our technician pulled (6) new circuits from the sub panel to the main panel and changed out old single breakers in the sub panel with new ones. These new circuits will help the customer with the much needed electric outlets needed to run their every day equipment such as computers, televisions, etc.
While on site we were also asked to troubleshoot some older electric that was keeping their switches for the fan. We also found old and faulty wiring that was repaired, as well as a breaker that was needing to be replaced for the kitchen outlets.
It is important to be sure your electric wiring is safe. If you feel as though your electric is not up to code, please feel free to contact our office and we will be most happy to go over the service to be certain your home is safe and sound.

Marlock Electric was proud to be part of this 83,000 sq ft multi-purpose indoor inflattable fieldhouse. This inflattable dome houses an artificial turf playing field that converts to five tennis or basketball courts.
This project consisted of installing an 800 amp 480v electrical service which provides power to the dome to keep it inflated as well as power for the HVAC equipment, lighting and receptacles. Should there ever be an interuption of power the dome is protected by an 80kw automatic standby generator which will assure the dome keeps inflated.
This project involved running numerous amounts of underground conduits throughout the playing field to distribute power, data and fire alarm throughout the building.
This project consisted of all the electrical wiring for this newly built multi-family project. There were a total of 96 units, divided between 12 buildings, as well as a community building. On this project, we installed various underground electrical services, energy efficient LED lighting, power for all of the appliances, fire alarm system per NYS building code, as well as exterior lighting which included all of the street lighting. This project also required a pump station which is backed up by 50 kw Cummings automatic standby generator.
